PORT ANGELES — Gripping recordings of 911 calls reveal how a little girl tried to get help for her mother in the moments after an ex-boyfriend entered the home to kill her.
Christin Stock was fatally shot earlier this week in her Port Angeles home by her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Calvert, who then turned his gun on himself, police said.
Stock’s two daughters were hiding upstairs at the time of the shootings.
The youngest, 9 years old, had the presence of mind to call 911, telling a dispatcher, “Somebody just came into the house with a gun.”
Dispatcher: “Is the person still there with the gun?”
Girl: “Yes, my mom’s downstairs and we’re upstairs right now, he just broke in.”
Dispatcher: “You know who he is?”
Girl: “Yes, but my mom has a restraining order against him.”
Dispatcher: “Your mom has a restraining order against him?”
Girl: “We need help right now.”
Dispatcher: “OK, my partner is dispatching help, OK? I just need to keep you on the line until the officers get there.”
Girl: “OK. Come quickly, we need help and we’re really scared.”
Port Angeles police said it was clear that Calvert intended to abduct or do harm to Stock, but family members said he did not seem to be a violent person.
The two girls are now in the care of their father.
